Noelle’s Monthly Recap: April 2026

April was partly overshadowed by a stressful, multi-week interview process, but I still managed two trips to the Peak District with friends and a long-awaited visit to the Scottish Highlands. Here’s what I got up to in April 2026.

A Cotswold Day Out: Painswick, Gloucestershire

As I’ve gotten older, spending a leisurely day wandering through a quaint town with a coffee in hand has become my idea of a day well spent. The town of Marietta, Ohio came under my radar because of its historical past as the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Terrority and its waterfront location along the Ohio River. In modern days, Marietta has a charming downtown filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants. And thus, with a destination in mind, arrangements were made with the boutique Hackett Hotel for a stay over a long weekend. Here is my experience at the hotel.
