In May, I interviewed for two jobs, including one where I reached the final two candidates – but neither resulted in a job offer. I also fit in a long weekend in Romania and a short trip to the Malvern Hills. I also experienced my first English heat wave and the start of summer barbecue season. The highlight of my May after being unemployed for two months was starting a new job (for more on my lay off, read my March post)! Thankfully, my new job is a definite improvement over the last work environment I was in, and in many ways I can feel a certain weight of stress lifted off my shoulders. My manager and coworkers thus far are friendly and a pleasure to work with, and there seems to be a good work-life balance. My commute is also down from an hour to twenty minutes now!
