A Review: LAX Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles, California

As someone who is not a fan of early morning flights – but often has to take them – finding a comfortable place to rest my head that is conveniently located to the airport is essential. In the Los Angeles area, the LAX Marriott Hotel has become just that for me. Each visit there – thanks to the modern decor, location, and comfortable, functional rooms – has made the hotel a place I look forward to staying at to regroup before a long flight. Here’s my take on the hotel.

The Hotel

At the LAX Marriott Hotel, you’ll find a modern, fully-renovated hotel located on West Century Boulevard, adjacent to Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) terminals. Even though it is an “airport” hotel, the amenities offered onsite, such as the resort-style outdoor pool and well-equipped fitness facility make it feel more like a hotel-resort. There’s an onsite Starbucks and two restaurants as well.

The WiFi is high speed and reliable, and shuttles to and from the airport to the hotel make it easy to access. Parking is offered onsite (at an additional cost). The LAX Marriott hotel is a grand hotel, with over 950 rooms in total, so you’ll always be able to find a room available.

The Rooms

The rooms at the LAX Marriott hotel are modern and decorated with a neutral and relaxing palette – think white, black, and calming shades of blue and green. Rooms have either two double beds or one king with luxury bedding and which, I can say from experience, are rather comfortable.

One of my peeves in many hotels is lack of plugs, but that is certainly not the case at the LAX Marriott Hotel. There are plugs and USB ports throughout the room, so you can easily charge several electronics at once. The rooms also feature several lights, and provide a nice desk area to work from. The flat screen in the room is a Smart TV, so in addition to cable, you can connect to your own Netflix or Hulu account.

Thanks to the hotel’s soundproof windows, you don’t so much as hear a plane throughout the day (or night).  Some rooms in the hotel have balconies that look onto the resort-style pool on the ground floor. On my most recent stay at the hotel, I received a room with a balcony and enjoyed sitting out on it.

The Location

The LAX Marriott Hotel is a quick, five minute drive to airport terminals, and a three minute drive to car rental returns. The hotel offers a shuttle to and from the airport, and Uber is also available.

From the hotel, Venice Beach and Marina del Ray are 20 minutes away; Santa Monica is 35 minutes.

Amenities

As mentioned, one of the perks of the LAX Marriott Hotel is its amenities. The resort-style outdoor pool is a great place to lounge, and you can work up a sweat at the fitness center. The hotel also has an airport shuttle, parking onsite, and a conference center.

There’s a Starbucks and two restaurants on site – American-casual Latitude 33 and JW’s steak house. Room service is also available.

  1. I saw your instagram story, and the view from your room was pretty cool too. Although, I’m a sucker for views from way high up. It just makes everything look better. 😛 This looks and sounds like a nice hotel. I haven’t stayed at too many since I rarely travel, but the ones I have stayed at were just horribly outdated. I really like the sink in that bathroom.

    1. Yeah, the view from the balcony was a pleasant surprise! It was just hard to photograph at night. I love anything high up too. Outdated hotels can still have good service or breakfast (I’ve stayed in plenty of those as well), but ideally I prefer updated just to feel refreshed each day. Thanks for reading! 🙂

    1. Thanks! I stay in a lot of the Marriott’s as well (Silver Elite) but the LAX one stands out because its a bit larger and more resort-like. It’s a really relaxing place for before a flight. Hopefully you make it there if ever in LA!
