About Noelle

Mark and Noelle in Banos, Ecuador

Who is Noelle?

My name is Noelle and I have lived in the Washington, D.C. area for the majority of my life. I lived in London, England for over a year (which is where this blog was born) and currently live near Baltimore, Maryland. I am in my thirties and have a day job in the telecom industry.  You’ll often see my teenage son, Markell, and husband, Mark, on this blog. I enjoy blogging as a way to express myself and share my experiences with others. In my spare time, you can find me reading, watching TV, being a mom, baking and cooking, hiking, drinking wine, and planning my next adventure.

Why did you start this blog?

I started this blog in early 2016 after I moved from the Washington, D.C. suburbs to London, England. I had wanted to move abroad for a few years and after finishing my MBA degree (while working full-time) I was able to secure a consultant position in the telecom industry in the city. This blog was initially started as a reflection of my life as an expat but slowly evolved into a resource for practical travel tips and my experience in various English and European destinations.

After some time living in England, family circumstances led me to move back stateside, but the travel certainly hasn’t stopped – so follow along as I explore all the world has to offer.

My goal with this blog is to provide practical travel tips, firsthand experiences, travel guides, and reflections on my experience as an expat. I aim to go beyond the surface in order to gain a deeper understanding of the destinations I visit.
