A Photo Diary of the Beauty of England

Even though I don’t live in England anymore, with a trip across the pond coming up next month, I find myself reminiscing on the beauty that abounds in the country. And, as most English people will tell you – “There’s more to England than London”. So, here are twelve photos that encapsulate what the country outside of London is all about.

img_9231Pulteney Bridge – only one of a few bridges in the world with shops on both sides – and its weir in Bath, Somerset.

img_9209Devil’s Chimney from atop Leckhampton Hill, Gloucestershire. The Cotswold Way used to reach Devil’s Chimney is a delightful hiking trail.

img_8451Castlerigg stone circle in Keswick, Cumbria. You can walk right up to the stones!

imagePunting boats in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. A ride along the college backs in autumn was a treat.

imageInfamous Stonehenge in Amesbury, Salisbury. Strange to think of civilizations past that put these standing stones in place.

Have you been to England? Where did you like best?
